REPORTS TO: Montessori Nursery Manager


The Early Years Teacher/Professional is expected to represent the professional and knowledgeable image of the company at all times and positively promote the company at external events/outings, multi-professional meetings, school partnerships etc.

The EYFS (Early Years Foundation Stage) sets a statutory framework for early years. It covers requirements for learning, development, assessments, safeguarding, wellbeing, and legislative criteria, to which we must always adhere. It is expected that, in this senior role, you will support others by demonstrating a proficient knowledge of this framework.


  • To adhere to Company Policies & Procedures, the Children’s Act, Health & Safety legislation, Ofsted’s legislation and the National Standards, both personally and in leadership of the team
  • To practice outstanding, high-quality standards at all times to the room team, throughout the day’s events and activities.
  • To assist with the daily routine of the nursery rooms
  • To understand and follow the Safeguarding Policy and legislation, so we meet the needs of all children in the nursery
  • To use the highest of standards of conduct when dealing with children, parents/carers, visitors and colleagues
  • To effectively use and support the staff practice of an online observation/tracker system throughout the nursery
  • To proficiently support the routine in the room, conforming to Health & Safety policies and keeping a clean environment, resources, utilities and laundry


  • to show and utilise a thorough knowledge and understanding of the EYFS and Montessori teaching practice
  • to engage children in appropriate and stimulating activities according to the Montessori and EYFS areas of learning, from planning to observation and assessment
  • to support the Room Leader with the planning and organisation of activities inside and outside, at the nursery or on trips and outings, relevant to the age and needs of the individual child, which encourage development, self-motivation and a lifelong love of learning
  • to ensure you understand and practice policies and procedures, supporting others as needed
  • to complete and keep up-to-date children’s records, in accordance with the Company’s working practice, in both hard files and e-files
  • to liaise and build a secure bond and working relationship with the children in your room, as well as your key children and their parents/carers,
  • to encourage the family’s involvement in the nursery, leading nursery staff to do the same
  • to undertake training that is deemed relevant and necessary for your role
  • to ensure that mealtimes are a pleasant, social experience for the children
  • to ensure that sleep and rest follow the needs of the individual child
  • to understand and practice safeguarding and child protection of all children
  • to share in the routine and supervision of the room and nursery, conforming to Health & Safety policies and keeping a clean environment, resources, utilities and laundry
  • to take part in the preparation of snacks and meals if necessary, having undertaken appropriate Company Food Safety & Hygiene training
  • to respect the confidentiality of all information received at the nursery
  • if, over the age of 21 years and in the possession of a clean, full UK driving license, to undertake car-driving duties which are commensurate with this job role and responsibilities
  • to undertake any tasks requested which are commensurate with this job role and responsibilities
  • to act in accordance with the Company’s Mission Statement at all times

Montessori Teachers / Teaching Assistants

Vacancies: Moortown Montessori Leeds and Strensall Montessori  York, Fulford Montessori York.

You will have a thorough knowledge of the Montessori philosophy and a training in Montessori Teaching, as well as a high-standard of care for children. Along with this, you will demonstrate a proficient knowledge of the EYFS and Ofsted’s requirements; be motivated and a good communicator; able to organise yourself throughout a demanding day.
